This course is designed to foster a deeper understanding of learner mistreatment within educational environments, specifically at Harvard Medical School (HMS). By viewing vignettes depicting a subset of learner experiences and actively engaging with the material, participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, address, and prevent mistreatment in their educational communities. In addition, the course aims to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment by increasing awareness and understanding of relevant policies and practices.

- Enroll: Click the “Enroll Now” button to add the program to your cart and begin checkout.
- Please fill out the registration form:
- Email: Use your hospital or HMS email address. This will become your username for Canvas Catalog.
- Harvard University ID (HUID): Enter your 8-digit HUID, found on your HMS ID card, or look it up using the provided link. Leave blank if you cannot find your HUID.
- Submit the Form: After filling in all required information, select the “Register New Account” button.
- Check out: Select the “Enroll” button to begin the checkout process.
- Verify email to activate account:
- Check your email (on the same computer) for a message from notifications@instructure.com, with the subject “Welcome to Catalog.” •
- Select the “Complete Registration” link in the email.
- Select a password for Canvas Catalog.
- Select the “Register” button.

Access the Student Dashboard:
After activating your account, you will be redirected to the Student Dashboard.
- View Course Descriptions: The Student Dashboard features sections for both programs and courses. Use the “Requirements” link under each program to expand or collapse course descriptions.
- Add Courses to Canvas: Courses within a program need to be manually added to your Canvas dashboard. Click “Begin Course” next to each course to do so.

To access your courses in Canvas Catalog, use the account you created in the previous steps.
- Sign in to Canvas Catalog:
- Select “Login” in the upper right corner.
- On the sign-in page, enter the email you used for registration in the “Username” field.
- Enter your password in the “Password” field.
- Do not use the “Sign in with HMS Account” option.
- If you forgot your password, select “Forgot Password?” and enter the email you used for registration as your username.
- Access Student Dashboard: Once you have signed in:
- Select your name in the upper right corner of the Canvas Catalog home page.
- Select “Student Dashboard” from the drop-down menu to view your courses and programs
